PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
During warm-up, over the phase change temperature, phase change materials (PCMs) begin to fill surface-specific roughnesses and/or unevennesses and expel any air pockets from microstructures. Convex and concave surface structures and stack-up tolerances can be widely compensated for by the use of these materials. Their thixotropic nature prevents run-out. The thicknesses are characterized by high process reliability, which, among others, makes these films ideal for replacing thermal greases.
As an alternative with higher gap compensation capability, gap fillers are available up to 10 mm thickness. For applications combining heat spreading with PCM, HALA also offers pyrolytic graphite foils with two-side PCM coating.
Typical applications: power modules, thermo-electric modules and e-mobility power electronics.
