PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Dispensable 2-component gap-fillers are suitable for compensating extreme tolerances and gaps, especially in non-planar buildups without pressure. Their thixotropic behaviour allows accurate positioning and placement curing at room temperature or under heat.
Non-elastic, plastically deformable gap-fillers can thermally bridge large gaps and tolerances without permanent application of pressure.
Elastic gap-filler pads can thermally bridge large gaps and tolerances. Due to their restoring forces, they establish permanent contact.
For siloxane-free solutions, see our silicone-free gap fillers. For even lower thermal resistance on planar surfaces, phase change materials are an alternative.
Typical applications: power modules, inverters and e-mobility. Request a free sample.
FAQ
Silicone gap filler pads are elastic thermal interface materials that bridge gaps and height tolerances between electronic components and heat sinks. Under compression they conform to surface irregularities, establish permanent thermal contact through their restoring forces and minimise thermal resistance — at thicknesses from 0.2 to 10 mm with thermal conductivities up to 20 W/mK.
Gap filler pads are pre-formed solid elastic sheets placed between component and heat sink and compressed during assembly. 2K dispensable gap fillers are mixed from two components and applied as a liquid — ideal for complex geometries, very large gaps or fully automated production processes. Both types are available as silicone or low volatile (LV) variants.
LV stands for low volatile siloxane content. LV-rated gap fillers emit significantly fewer volatile siloxanes than standard silicone products — making them suitable for automotive painting processes, sensitive electrical contacts and environments where silicone contamination must be minimised. For zero siloxane emission, silicone-free gap fillers are the solution.
HALA silicone gap fillers achieve thermal conductivities up to 20 W/mK at material thicknesses from 0.2 to 10 mm. The high-performance Z-series reaches 10, 12 and 15 W/mK — significantly above the industry standard of 3–6 W/mK for conventional gap fillers. Request a free sample.
Yes. HALA supplies silicone gap fillers as loose or kiss-cut moulded parts from mats, with optional fibreglass reinforcement. 2K dispensable types are available from buckets or cartridges for automated dispensing. Contact HALA’s experts for a customised solution.
