PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Thanks to their silicone-free polymer base, these gap-fillers do not emit volatile siloxanes, which can be important for sensitive electrical contacting or other requirements, e.g. paint repellency.

For higher thermal conductivities up to 20 W/mK where silicone is permitted, see our silicone gap fillers. For even lower thermal resistance, phase change materials are an alternative.

Typical applications: e-mobility & EV battery cooling, power modules and inverters. Request a free sample.

FAQ

Silicone-free gap fillers are thermal interface materials based on a non-silicone polymer that emit no volatile siloxanes. They should be used wherever standard silicone products cause problems: in automotive painting processes where siloxanes cause paint repellency, in sensitive electrical contact applications, in aerospace and any environment with strict silicone restrictions.

HALA silicone-free gap fillers achieve thermal conductivities up to 8 W/mK at material thicknesses from 0.5 to 5 mm. For higher thermal conductivities up to 20 W/mK, silicone gap fillers are the right choice — where silicone is not restricted.

LV (low volatile) silicone gap fillers emit significantly fewer siloxanes than standard silicone but are not completely siloxane-free. Silicone-free gap fillers use a completely different non-silicone polymer base and emit zero volatile siloxanes — the only choice for applications with absolute silicone exclusion requirements.

Silicone-free gap fillers are the standard choice for EV battery thermal management, automotive power electronics, aerospace and any application in painting lines or clean rooms where silicone contamination must be completely avoided. Their high elasticity also makes them ideal for applications subject to mechanical vibrations and shocks.

Yes. HALA supplies silicone-free gap fillers as loose or kiss-cut moulded parts from mats, with optional mechanical reinforcement depending on type. Contact HALA’s experts for a customised solution and free sample.
